Bac Lieu Bird Garden is situated in Hiep Thanh Commune, 6km away out of Bac Lieu Town. The garden used to be a coastal mangrove forest, but sand and alluvial sediment have overtaken the sea, in parts.

Bac Lieu Bird Garden is home to many bird species and waterfowl, such as lesser whistling ducks, herons, blackbirds, etc. Their gathering season lasts from May to October, when they build nests to which they return the following year.

From Bac Lieu town, along the road named after the late musician Cao Van Lau, approximately 6km to the south, you will see the 230ha Bac Lieu longan garden, stretching over 11km from Hiep Thanh to Vinh Trach Dong.

Nature has generously endowed this place fertile lands, enabling ancient longan trees to develop for over hundred of years in this land. This place is known for two longan varieties from China – Su-bic and tu-huyt. The most famous longan garden is the one of Mr. Truong Kiet in Chom Xoai village, Hiep Thanh commune.

Bac Lieu Prince’s House

The original name of Cong Tu Bac Lieu was Tran Trinh Quy, then it was changed to Tran Trinh Huy as this name was not precious and fine. He was a well-known playboy in Bac Lieu and Southern in 1930s – 1940s. Tran Trinh Huy was born in a very rich and luxurious family, his father – Tran Trinh Trach owned so many rice hectares and a lot of land. He was seemed the richest person at that time that he was said to fire money to bold green beans.

He was the first Vietnamese owning the plane and he used the plane to visit the rice fields. He was really a special and unique person in Vietnam, coming to Bac Lieu, Cong Tu Bac Lieu’s House is one of the attractions that we can not miss to visit.

Nam Hai Buddha (Quan Am Phat Dai)

Situated eight kilometers from Bac Lieu City, Quan Am Phat Dai Pagoda in Nha Mat Ward has been one of the most frequented pilgrim destinations in the Mekong Delta for nearly half a century.

Xiem Can Pagoda

Xiem Can Pagoda in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu is a splendid architectural structure of the Khmer community and has long been a famous spiritual destination of the province.
Visiting the pagoda, one will understand why it is listed among the biggest and most splendid Khmer pagodas in southern Vietnam. The pagoda was built in 1887 near a coastal alluvial ground that explains why the pagoda is called Xiem Can (literally bordering water) according to the language of the Jiezhou people who are mainly living in Bac Lieu Province).

The pagoda is also harmonious with the architecture of Sala – the place where monks and the Khmer people gather to prepare for important ceremonies. There are many towers where ashes of dead monks are preserved. It is a typical feature that helps distinguish the Khmer pagodas with others seen from outside.

Before reaching the age of 18, Khmer children will be brought to the pagoda to learn about Khmer script, Buddhism and the cultural characteristics of the Khmer community during a three year period.

Vinh Hung Ancient Tower

Vinh Hung Tower was originated from Angkor period of Khmer people and until now is it still preserved. Visiting the tower, tourists in Vietnam travel will see the only ancient architecture vestige in the Mekong River Delta. Vinh Hung tower is located in Vinh Hung A commune, Vinh Loi district, Bac Lieu province. The tower is the only ancient architecture vestige in the Mekong River Delta, originated from Angkor period of Khmer people, which is still preserved till nowadays. The tower was discovered in 1911 and at that time, it was listed as one of the historical sites in southern Vietnam. The tower is also known as Luc Hien or Bhah Dhat tower.

The 8,9 meter-high Vinh Hung tower is built on a hill with simple structure. In the tower, there are a Buddha’s hand made of copper; a lower body part of the Goddess; a statue of the Goddess made from green stone, statue of Goddess Brahma; a Buddha’s head made from copper and many worshipping items.

Historical relic – Noc Nang field

Lying in hamlet 4, Phong Thanh village, Gia Rai district, Bac Lieu province, the relic consists of three hectares, with a lot of items: section of Muoi Chuc family’s tombs, worship house – display house, group of statues describing the event on February 17 1928, (the bloody battle to regain the fields between Muoi Chuc siblings and landlords and mandarins robbers), floating pavillion etc.
